Training Course for Summer Camp Counselors

Palestinian Child Welfare Association Launches Intensive Training Course to Prepare Summer Camp Leaders and Trainers In the framework of its efforts to train young staff with leadership and management skills necessary for summer camp administration on a professional and educational basis, an intensive training course in Summer Camp Management and Preparation of Summer Camp Leadership Trainers has been launched at EASA. At the opening of the session, President of ECA Mr. Khalid Masimi welcomed participants, stressing that the association pays great attention to building its volunteers" capacity and invests in preparing young leaders who can continue their career of giving and serving children and society. Massimi praised the outstanding efforts made by Prof. Ibrahim Haboush during his administration of summer camps, appreciating its successes and achievements, and inviting participants to benefit from the experiences and knowledge included in the training program, as it plays a role in developing their skills, refining their personalities and preparing them for leading summer camps in the future. The course is taught by Mr. Ibrahim Habboush, where on the first day he covered a number of key themes, including the concept and objectives of summer camp, stages of planning, implementation and evaluation, recipes and tasks of the summer camp manager, mechanisms for preparing the general program and daily program, as well as effective leadership methods and managing work teams that contribute to the success of summer programs and activities. The two-day course includes both theoretical and practical aspects, giving participants the opportunity to apply concepts and skills learned on the ground, in a move aimed at preparing qualified trainers and leaders to contribute to the development of summer camps and raising the quality of programs offered for children. This course is part of the vision of ECA to invest in the human element, promote a culture of volunteerism and build youth leadership that can have a positive and sustainable impact on society
